I have had an interest in radio for donkey’s years beginning with my taking the exam to acquire an Amateur Radio Licence in 1984 but there are myriad things that hold my interest.
I’m a mad keen historian, especially family and local history.
Another thing that takes up my free time is reading, especially military subjects, both campaigns and vehicles. I usually have at least two books on the go at any one time. In fact if asked, “what is the best thing I ever did,” I would have to say, without a shadow of a doubt, “learning to read.”
I like to think I’m one of our local library’s best customers!
Music wise I couldn’t be more diverse. I prefer the sounds of the 40’s, the 60’s and classical music to anything else.
What shows will I be presenting? Well, on Monday evenings between 6 and 8 there’s the Classical Music
Show, which I present along with Molly, my better half. Not only will you hear some great music but we’ll also be adding snippets of information about the composers; when they wrote the piece, who they wrote it for and bits about their life and times.
Also, I’m working on a local history programme that will air in the not too distant future.
Then , also in the not too distant future will be a show featuring people in the Ribble Valley so I’ve a lot on the go at the moment.
Pet hate? Oh yes, people who say, “I’m bored” or “I’ve nothing to do!!”
If you are one of these people then how about getting involved with Ribble Valley Media?
Plans for the future? Yes, to try and get more people in the Ribble Valley involved with RVM, regardless of their age.
So, if you are reading this and have a story to tell then I want to hear from you.
E-mail me at studio@ribblevalleymedia.com
Don’t put it off till tomorrow, do it today!
Strangest thing about me, (apparently!!) I do not have a television set! Shock!! Horror!!
(For more details of this phenomenon see my section at the bottom of the RVM Home Page.)
Cheers,
Frank Watson
